Upcoming Trainings
The California Fostering Connections to Success Implementation Project has concluding its series of monthly stakeholder meetings on the efforts underway at the state level to implement the provisions of AB 12 that extend foster care benefits for youth up until age 21.
As you likely know, a variety of teams were formed by the California Department of Social Services to delve more deeply into various implementation issues and develop the rules of court, All County Letters and regulations. The input received at the stakeholder meetings have been essential to ensuring that these rules and regulations meet the needs of youth, providers and caregivers and to truly realize the many opportunities created by AB12.
A summary of information gathered, including questions and answers will be posted on this website shortly.
Trainings related to AB 12 implementation will take place from now through 2012. Some trainings will be targeted at specific stakeholder groups. Open trainings will be posted on this website in the future.

The goal of the convenings are: (1) provide an overview of AB12; (2) preview the “technical” curriculum that is being developed and that will be widely available for training by the end of the year; and (3) to answer key questions as you begin to prepare for extended foster care in your counties.
